Greg Wilson @ Leftfoot!

Infamous Birmingham club night Leftfoot is celebrating their 10th birthday this year and to mark this glorious occasion they are throwing a series of special parties including Mr Scruff, Marlena Shaw, Fabio and of course Greg Wilson.

Greg Wilson, ’The Godfather of UK Electrofunk’, should need no introduction but for those of you younger than myself (which is no doubt most of you!) let me tell you that he was the first British DJ to mix live on national television (see below for clip with him & Jools Hollands), resident at the legendary club Wigan Pier as well as starting the first dance night at The Hacienda.

You can get a full biography, which is definitely worth a read, by clicking here.

Greg was pre acid house, a true pioneer and perhaps not truly recognised in the mainstream for just what he did for dance music in the U.K and for the djs that he inspired!

Check out his mix for Samurai FM here and other mixes on his website www.electrofunkroots.co.uk & www.myspace/djgregwilson

Djing since 1975 Greg can now be found playing the worlds coolest parties to discerning music lovers.

Saturday 30th January sees Greg arriving at the Hare & Hounds in Kings Heath, Birmingham, to join Bruce Q, Deano Ferrino & Sam Redmore celebrate Leftfoot’s birthday.

You can get more info on the party and book tickets by clicking here

Leftfoot promoter Adam Regan has given us 2 guest list places for the party to give away to you fine folks.  No question to answer, simply email hello@urbanfly.co.uk and at 9pm on Wednesday night I’ll randomly pick a winner and drop you an email to let you know you’ve won!
